Gaynelle was born June 17, 1936, in Iredell County to the late Will H. and Ollie Carter Moxley. She was the granddaughter of the late D.H. "Bud" and Maggie Wagoner Moxley and James D. and Louisa Swaim Carter. Gaynelle married James H. Smith on Oct. 31, 1954. Gaynelle was a treasured Girl Scout leader for 27 years in the Boonville community. She was a proud member of the Sisters of the Skillet quilting group and they all were very special to her. Gaynelle enjoyed art classes and oil painting classes in Pilot Mountain for several years. She loved sporting events and watching her grandchildren participate. She was a member of Deep Creek Friends Meeting and served on various committees and groups. Before health problems prevented participation, Gaynelle served on the Yadkin County Republican Executive Committee, 5th district and N.C. Republican Executive Committees. I! n addition to her parents and grandparents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Stanley Moxley; great-grandson, Elijah Ray Swaim, and she leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 53 years, James H. Smith; her three children, Jeffery James (Becky) Smith of Boonville, Jeannie Katherine Smith and her fianc? In recent months, he became a resident of Hugh Chatham Nursing Center because of declining health. Mr. Jarvis was born June 19, 1914, in Forsyth County to Wallace and Ela Burton Jarvis. Mr. Jarvis was retired from Chatham Manufacturing after 52 years of service. He was a member of Bethesda Moravian Church in Winston-Salem and was a member of Morning Star Moravian Fellowship in Asheville. Buck was a longtime member of Elkin Rescue Squad and former committee chair for Boy Scout Troop 625 Jonesville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Gough Jarvis; and a daughter, Frances Jean Hembree. Survivors include a son, Bruce Jarvis, and wife Judi of Marion; two grandchildren, Kimberly Martin of Weaverville and Matthew Jarvis! of Brunswick County; two stepgrandchildren, Gregory Boone of Travelers Rest, S.C., and Andrea Beams of Naples, Fla.; a great-grandchild, Corey Martin; and three stepgreat-grandchildren, Kendall and Caleb Boone and Delainey Beams. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wiley McKinley Hill; a daughter, Dorothy Holcomb; and a son, Harold Hill. Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Helen Hill of Winston-Salem; a son-in-law, Frank Holcomb of Yadkinville; a daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Hill of Yadkinville; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Her funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, at Pine Hill Friends Meeting in Ararat, with the Rev. John Hackworth and the Rev. Michael Thames officiating. He was born Nov. 18, 1921, in Surry County to the late Joseph Harrison and Sarah Vaughn Norman. The Rev. Norman was the former pastor of Poplar Springs Baptist Church and Salem Fork Baptist Church in Surry County and Deep Creek Baptist Church in Yadkin County. He served as assistant pastor with First Baptist Church of Yadkinville for several years and served as interim and supply pastor for dozens of churches throughout Yadkin, Davie, Forsyth and Surry Counties. He was a master craftsman and was known for his skill in woodworking, cabinet making, furniture and making musical instruments. He was a member of Enon Baptist Church and was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in World War II. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 11 brothers and sisters. She was a lifetime and faithful member of Enon Baptist Church where she was active with the church kitchen and enjoyed the years she spent as leader in the Enon Baptist Church Youth Department. Mrs. Wooten loved life and the time spent with her family cooking, gardening or taking care of the many animals she had at home. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Harry Dull. Surviving are her beloved husband of 63 years, Edsel Wooten of the home; her four loving children, Eddie (Hedy) Wooten of!
