    2. Bob Carter
    3. Have reposted the burial survey of Copeland Baptist Church that I did back in 2005. Click on the link below adn scroll down until you see it. http://www.genealogy.mountainscape.com/surrycousins/Churches.htm I have not updated the survey with new burials. My update includes additional information on family relationships (parents or wives or husbands), maiden names, and dates where I could find them in birth, death, or marriage records. You'll notice some data is still missing even for those who were born and died in recent times. If you can add anything, just let me know. Anyway, if you see any factual errors, missing data, or outright mistakes (we all make them), please let me know. Once it has been out for about a month or so, and updates or errors have been edited, I'll move them to our primary site at http://cemeterycensus.com/nc/surr/index.htm which is where I'm going to post our cemetery surveys in the future. I located an Elvira Sprinkle in the 1850 census, living with Geo and Katharine Cumbo of Surry Co, NC. The age given for Elvira would likely palce her birth in 1838 (census was dated 28 Oct 1850). Our Louvenia's (Luvina, Louisa) birth was 28 Feb 1838. On 26 Jun 1860, William F Cranfill and wife Luvina were residing at Clarksville of Chinquepin District, Davie Co, NC. Living nearby was a George Sprinkle, born about 1831, with wife Mary and son John H Sprinkle, the boy born in 1856. I'm wondering if this George might have been a brother to Elvira/Luvina/Louvina. (Yes, I believe this woman was one-in-the-same. After searching through entire census, I've not found any Springers living anywhere near any Cranfills, but instead, I have found some Sprinkles in close proximity.) Regarding your Sept 2005 posting on the subject, The Cranfill family often appears as Cranfield or even as Crankfield in some records. (Previous to the marriage between Elvira Sprinkle and our William F Cranfill in 1857 at Yadkin Co, he appears to have married an Elizabeth Wilkins on 3 Oct 1853 also at Yadkin Co, NC. A George Wilkins was the bondsman for the marriage of Wm Cranfill and Elvira Sprinkle.) I'm not familiar with this 1858 Charity Sprinkle lawsuit in Yadkin Co, but it could explain why they removed to Davie Co by the 1860 census. Can you provide any details? Is there a connection between Charity Sprinkle and George Sprinkle? Thanks. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
