In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Richard W. Pinnix, Jr. The service to celebrate the life of Mr. Pinnix will be held on Sunday, December 21, at 5:00 p. m., in the Mackie-Sinclair Funeral Chapel, with Rev. John Fletcher officiating. She was a member of Union Hill Baptist Church WMU and was a volunteer for the Tri-County Christian Crises Ministry. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J.D. Shores and a daughter, Cathy Ann Riggs. Survivors include: three sons, Jessie Shores and wife Bonnie of State Road, Andy Shores and wife Paula of Jonesville, Phillip Shores and wife Lou Jane of Thurmond; two daughters, Joan Shamash and husband Victor of Mooresville, Angela Cockerham and husband Jesse of Thurmond; two brothers, Clifford Brooks of Rural Hall, Roy Brooks of Cleveland, NC; two sisters, Hazel Money of Thurmond, Thelma Mack of Hepbzibah, Ga.; eleve! n grandchildren and four great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Thursday, December 11, 2008 at 6:30 p.m., at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church by Rev. Johnny Blevins and Rev. Danny Dodds. The family will receive friends following the memorial service at the church. He was born in Forsyth County on March 7, 1944 to Dallas Graham and Addie Lee Hunt Patterson. Mr. Patterson was a member of East Bend Friends Meeting where he previously served on the House and Grounds and Cemetery committees and was instrumental in the building of the new fellowship hall. He served in the U.S. Army and was a member of Yadkin Masonic Lodge #162 A.F. & A.M. Bud lived his entire life in East Bend, but enjoyed traveling to Okeechobee, Florida to visit his friends, Alan Lewis and family and to attend the rodeos. He loved horses and was a talented bluegrass musician, playing the fiddle and guitar. He also loved playing with his grandchildren and was known for his sense of humor and practical jokes. Bud will be greatly missed by family and friends who will always remember his willingness to help and put others needs first. Mr. Patterson was preceded in death! by his parents and his wife of 26 years, Faye Patterson. Surviving are his daughters Ginger (Greg) Owens of Winston-Salem, and Sherry (Robert) Hunt of East Bend; sons Lin (Luz) Dixon and Allen Dixon both of East Bend; sisters Margaret (Paul) Taylor of Pfafftown, and Doris Patterson of Winston-Salem; seven grandchildren Zach and Tori Owens, April (Tim) Harper, Robbie Hunt, Willie, Kris, and Stacy Dixon; one great-grandchild Abby Harper. Charlie was a member of Shady Grove United Methodist Church. He was retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company after 33 years of service and worked at Huff Funeral Home for several years. Charlie served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of the East Bend American Legion Post 336. He was preceded in death by his parents; a great -grandson, Cameron Michael Pardue; his sisters, Ethel Murphy, Betty Williams, Mary Jones, and Avonell Yokley; and his brothers, Bruce Murphy, Henry Murphy, Paul Murphy, and Thad Murphy. Surviving are his wife of 68 years, Edna Beane Murphy of the home; three daughters, Inez Webb of East Bend, Linda (Bill) Hensley of Lexington, and Phyllis (Chris) Sparks of East Bend; five grandchildren, Robby Webb, Robin (Tim) Holder, Christie Sparks, !
