(Jim) Williams, passed into Paradise with Jesus Christ on Friday Morning, March 12, 2010. She was a member of the Yadkinville United Methodist Church, and a member of the Women of Faith Sunday School Class. Linda was born March 15, 1949 at home in Yadkin County to the late John F. and Alta Daye Jester. She also was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Jo Jester. Linda is survived by her husband, Jim Williams, her daughter Stefanie Williams (David) Prince of Loris SC, and her son, James Lee Williams of the home. Two grandchildren: Luke and Jacob Prince of Loris SC. Sisters: Nadine Daye of Yadkinville, Judy (Larry) Comer of Boonville, Peggy (Ricky) Moxley of Boonville. Brothers: Tony (Verina) Jester of Yadkinville, Terry (Polly) Jester of Thurmond, Jerry (Diane) Jester of Yadkinville, and Jackie (Barbara) Jester of Boonville. Sister-in-Law Kathryn (George) Hege of Yadkinville, and Brother-in-Law Sam (Cathy) W! illiams of Yadkinville. Many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great nephews. Linda graduated from the last class of Yadkinville High School Class of 1967, took courses at Surry Community College and was a career secretary, working for CIT Finance, Yadkin Arts Council, Yadkin Soil Conservation Service, James Williams & Co., and NC DOT in Winston-Salem. After James was born, Linda became a full-time mother and homemaker. She volunteered as a reader at Yadkinville Elementary School, Cub Scouts, YUMW Chicken Pie Luncheons and helped collect food for Yadkin Christian Ministries. She attended every baseball game, soccer match, football game, wrestling match, and any other event in which James participated. She was a good "listener" to the family, friends, and strangers who wanted to share their troubles, concerns and joys. Linda loved gospel music and always had an Elvis gospel CD playing while driving. Mrs. Williams funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, March 15, 2010 (her birth date) at the Yadkinville United Methodist Church with Pastor Patty Choplin officiating. Interment will follow in the Yadkinville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Sunday, March 14, 2010, at the Gentry Family Funeral Service on Hwy. 601 North in Yadkinville. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established at The Yadkinville United Methodist Church, P.O. She was born July 16, 1964 in Yadkin County to Tommy and Jewel Hamby Reece. Mrs. O'Dell was an artist that attended Queens College in Charlotte, the Art Institute in Atlanta, Ga., and was currently attending Surry Community College. She was a member of Charity Baptist Church, was active with the Women's Medical Auxiliary of Cleveland County; volunteered with the American Heart Association, and with Gaston Day School. She was owner and operator of Magpie Boutique in Gastonia for several years. Mrs. Reece-O'Dell was a full of life and enjoyed spending time and laughing with her son and family. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Joe and Bessie Reece of Boonville; and by Arvis and Texie Hamby of Wilkesboro. Surviving are her beloved son, whom she loved dearly, Kenneth Patrick Reece-O'Dell, Gastonia; her loving parents, Tommy and Jewel Reece of Boonville; sisters, Crystal Reece Myers, Boonville; Ginge! r Lee Reece (Kevin)Lewis, Hays; her former husband and father of her son, Kevin O'Dell, of Gastonia; special friends, Lisa Chamberlain, Kathy Alter, Hope Elledge; nephews, Aslan Daniel Lewis, Levis Thomas Myers; a special niece, Julie LeAnn Lewis; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. The family will receive friends from 3:30-4:30 PM Sunday at Boonville Baptist Church. Her funeral service will follow the visitation at 4:30 PM Sunday in the sanctuary of the church with Rev. Ken Boaz officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. She was a special lady with a deep faith and loved playing the piano. She was the pianist for several churches and quartets through out her life. She was an avid reader of Christian literature and shared her books and tapes with her many friends. She enjoyed participating with the Yadkin prison ministries and the meals on wheels. She was a retired bookkeeper working many years for Mcknight's Pallets in Yadkinville, NC. She enjoyed going to yard sales and had a story to tell about every item she purchased. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Roy McCollum. She was a faithful member of Longtown United Methodist Church where she served the church with the Newsletter, Treasurer of Cemetery Committee, Charge Treasurer, Membership Chairperson, Church Council, U.M.W., and the U.M.Y.F. She loved basket weaving and making Moravian Stars for her family and friends. Rachel lived for her family, her church, and her community. She owned and operated James Tax Service for many years and was employed by H & R Block prior to that. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and was actively involved in the Yadkin County Humane Society. She was a "Foster Mom" to many motherless and homeless animals throughout her life and had a great love for her own surviving pets. Surviving are her husband, Pastor Bill James, Jr. of East Bend; her children, Kevin James and his wife, Lisa of Lexington, Kelly Riggs of Mount Airy, Kristy Dinkins and her husband, Randy of Yadkinville, Kenan James and his wife, Dana of Yadkinville and Kyle James and his wife, Shannon of Mount Airy; her 12 precious grandchildren, Chrystal, Alex, Emily, Brylea and David James, Kaleb and Karlie Riggs, Erika, ! Tyler and Sydney Dinkins and Kylie and Brayden James; and her aunt, Mary Ruth Humphries of Mount Airy. Funeral services will be conducted at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home Chapel on Silas Creek Parkway at 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 14, 2010 by Pastor Lyn Ballentine. He was pastor of Churches in Texas, West Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina; served as a missionary for Southern Baptists in West Virginia and as an Associational Missionary in the Brier Creek Association in Hamptonville, NC. Cecil also served a total of twenty-four years military time in the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Air Force Reserve.
