    1. [NCYADKIN] Buck Shoals, Methodist Churches & Elsberrys
    2. ELEANOR McCAIN
    3. In 1779 John Elsberry bought a tract of land (400 ac) on a branch of Hunting Creek on "both sides of the road that leads from the Shallow ford to the Mulberry fields"; in 1784 he bought 300 ac. on "Rockey Branch, a draft of Hunting Creek". At some point in time he gave land on which to build the Elsberry Methodist Episcopal Chapel and Graveyard on Little Hunting Creek. Questions: 1. Is the present day Hunting River at the southwest corner of Yadkin Co. one and the same as the Hunting Creek mentioned above? 2. Do Rockey Branch & Little Hunting Creek still exist? 3. Would this general location be in South or North Buck Shoals Twsp.? 4. When did the area become 2 separate twsps? It was known just as Buck Shoals, I believe, in late 1790s into 1800 5. Would either of the two Methodist churchs in Buck Shoals twsp. on the Yadkin Co. cemeteries website be the successor to the Elsberry Chapel? If not, does anyone know where that might have been? Thank you in advance to anyone who might be able to educate me about this. Eleanor

Their first child was born 1872 [at least first that I have identified] and the Mary HOLCOMB he married was still in the home of her parents on the 1870 census. On the 1860 census, Alfred is just a couple of families away from Mary HOLCOMB. But he is living with William and Lydia CAMPBELL. I found William and Lydia on the 1850 census when Alfred would have been 7, but he isn't with them. Am still trying to find him in 1850. 3. The 1900 census for Yadkin Co NC shows Daisy CAMPBELL, with father appearing to be Alford.  I was looking at the images a familysearch.org for this census.  Alford's name is at bottom of page preceeding page Daisy is on.  It is so dark I cannot read the date of birth for Alford and name of spouse appears to be cut off.  Don't know if this is defect of original image or the copy the site is using.   Anyway - Daisy was born June 1895 and died Aug 1988.  As I said, she was living in Yadkin Co NC 1900.  She married Enoch Kelsey WOOTEN.  In 1920 they were living in Forsyth Co NC.  Daisy died in Surry Co NC.  I am trying to find names of her father and mother as well as their birth dates.  Any help at all woud be appreciated.
