Please forget my first post, I should have been more specific. Elsberry/Elsbury & Wright - 1775 thru 1803. I know this was before the formation of Yadkin Co. but their property was in s/west Yadkin - Buck Shoals area where John Elsberry built a church. Eleanor McCain eleanormccain@comcast.net

Thanks! I already posted the Wilkes page and will try to post the Yadkin page tonight. I need to make an announcement on the Yadkin Co. site on Ancestry as well since there are obviously many who are subbed to the Ancestry county pages that are not subbed to the regular mailing lists. Folks, It is almost impossible to use a regular Query Page form any more. Occasionally I can sneak a form on a page with low traffic without having 100s of spams start hitting but on two county sites, we literally got 1000s of spams. I even tried one of the commercial programs and it did not help. Obviously someone has automated the spams and it has become almost impossible to maintain a regular Query form. They were not even the usual spam we all get but were specific for offensive words. I do want a Query page for the new Yadkin and Wilkes county sites but would like to ask that if you post any queries to the mailing list, just add the subject as Query - (with your major surnames). That way I will pick them up as Queries to add to the Query page. From experience I know that queries do produce results even after years when they remain on a county site which is indexed. It is just a shame that some have found a way to abuse them for absolutely no good reason. I imagine the NCGenWeb will eventually get a secure form developed that we can use but for now, I will simply post them myself. You can also send your queries to me privately with the same Query in the subject line and I will post them. If anyone knows Ron Collins who is posting the obituaries for Yadkin county related people on the Ancestry.com mailing list, please ask him to contact me. I would like to abstract them for the Yadkin site and give him credit. I know that many if not most CCs refuse to post recent obits because it can be a real chore, especially when they are expected to post them on the day they are first published but I have personally found them very helpful as I continue my own family research. By abstracting I do stick to the basic facts which avoids any potential of copyright violation. Most papers do not mind even if the entire obituary is used but some do. When someone has limited time, I can certainly understand but I am fortunate. I have no other obligations so this is a full time job for me, even if I am slower than cold molasses and no longer very productive. I know that others across the country have been kind enough to send me many obituaries for my own family related lines and I simply cut and past them as a note into my database and they automatically post when I update my family site which is only once or twice a year.
