Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem. Nancy was born October 5, 1938, in Yadkin County, NC, to the late John M. and Jewel Long Davis. She retired in September of 1994 from Westinghouse and was a member of Faith Chapel on Motor Road in Winston-Salem. Mrs. Cave was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Cave; and her brother, Jimmy Davis. She is survived by her son, Timothy Cave (Cindy) of Winston Salem; daughters, Ceanzy Eagle of Winston Salem, Phyllis Sockwell (Reid) of McLeansville; brothers and sisters, Gene Davis (Jean), Tommy Davis (Charlotte), Mary Alice Brewster (Corky), S.L. Davis (Judy), Charles Davis (Denise), Eddie Davis, and Martha Beck (Wayne), and her grandchildren, Jamie Key, Matthew Cave, Kristen Jennings, Mikayla and Cameron Sockwell. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Monday, October 18, 2010, at Huff Funeral Home in East Bend. A Funeral Ser! vice will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Huff Funeral Home with Pastors Dwight Cartner and Bill Gibson officiating. Interment will follow in Macedonia Church Cemetery on Hwy 67 in East Bend. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Kate B.     3. Bob, I grew up on the Current farm next to the Henderson's we had a cemetery on our land with Messicks burried there. I played there as a child. I think that is the one you are speaking of. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem after a long illness. He was born October 12, 1939 in Yadkin County to Steve B. and Flora Holcomb Norris. He was a lifelong member of Courtney Baptist Church where he had served as a deacon and as church treasurer. For numerous years he traveled on mission trips with the Yadkin Baptist Men Mission Group, and coached little league baseball for several years when his children where young. He had served as a volunteer fireman with Courtney Volunteer Fire Department and was a founding member of the Courtney Ruritan Club. He retired from the Engineering Department of Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his parents. Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Yvonne Call Norris, of the home; 3 sons, Jeffrey (Mary) Norris of Winston-Salem, Todd (Patricia) Norris of Yadkinv! ille, Steven Norris of Yadkinville; and by a daughter, Karin Mendenhall of Yadkinville. He is also survived by six grandchildren who were the joy of his life, Christine, Alexandra and Caroline Norris of Winston-Salem, Hunter Norris of Yadkinville, Chase and Dakota Mendenhall of Yadkinville. He is survived by a brother, Harry (Charlotte) Norris of Yadkinville, and his little buddy, Abby. A Celebration of Life service will be 3:00 PM Sunday, October 3, 2010 at the Gentry Family Chapel with Dr. Ricky Atkins officiating, and burial to follow in the Courtney Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 5:00 PM Saturday, October 2, 2010 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. Mrs. Grubbs was preceded in death by her husband, Cromer Raymond Grubbs, Sr. in March, 1993. She was born October 5, 1915 in Yadkin County to the late John Henry and Nora Bovender Shore. She had lived in Winston-Salem since 1925 and received her education in the public schools, graduating from Reynolds High School, Class of January, 1933. Mrs. Grubbs was Secretary of Grubbs Real Estate Company. A member of Ardmore Moravian Church, she served two terms as president of the Women's Fellowship and at one time, a member of the Provincial Women's Board, and the Wachovia Moravian Reporter in the Southern Province. She was a member of the Winston-Salem Woman's Club and The Thursday Morning Music Club where she was president among other offices. In addition to her parents; and her husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters: Joyce Shore,! Osie Faye Wilson and Lee Ellen Marion and two brothers: John H. Shore, Jr. and Jack E. Shore. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Vicki Grubbs Moore of Tustin, CA; a son, Cromer Raymond Grubbs, Jr. and wife, Kathryn Grubbs, of Winston-Salem; five grandchildren: Laurie W. Moore, III (Shannon) of Greensboro, Lee Moore of Tustin, CA, Lane Moore (Diana) of Costa Mesa, CA, Chadwick R. Grubbs (Beth) of Charlotte and Kathryn G. Ezzell (Brad) of Cary, NC; and seven great-grandchildren: Mallorie, Madison, Amanda, and Courtney Moore, and Banks, Brooklyn, and Blakely Grubbs. She is also survived by one sister, Juanita S. Dahmer and one brother, William A. Shore, both of Winston-Salem. The Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, October 4, at Salem Funeral Home Chapel on Main Street with Rev. Mr. Shore was an active gardener, and enjoyed giving his produce away to family and friends in the community. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother and a sister. Surviving are his beloved wife of 57 years, whom he loved with all of his heart, Louise Cline Shore, of the home; 4 children, Brenda (Chris) Brown, Yadkinville; Dean (Ginger) Shore, Clemmons; Mickey Shore, Yadkinville; Rickey Shore, Maury, NC; grandchildren, Ritchie Puckett, Brandon Shore, Charity and Chasity Shore, Alicia Zimmerman, Madison Shore; 6 great-grandchildren; a sister, Colleen Ball; 2 brothers, Ronald Shore, Harold Shore; and several nieces, nephe! ws, cousins, and friends. His funeral service will be held 1:00 PM Monday at Turners Creek Baptist Church by Dr Bobby Russell and Dr. Allen Barker. He will lie in-state 30 minutes prior to the service. He was born November 28, 1935 in Yadkin County to the late Hershel and Opal Davis Adams. Mr. Adams retired from Unifi Inc. with several years of service. He loved going to the local ball games and enjoyed spending time with his friends. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sisters, Wilma Sue Adams and Barbara Adams Reid. Surviving are his brothers and sister, Bobby (Dot) Adams, Lewisville, Donnie Adams, Dobson, Margaret (Ubie) Slater, Lewisville, Kelly (Donna) Adams, Pinnacle; special friend and neighbor, Novella Adams; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A Memorial Service will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday in the Gentry Family Chapel by Dr. Allen Barker. The family will receive friends immediately following the Service.
