    2. If someone is looking up old churches-- In 1833 T. Amason and Richard Hocott sold two acres of land to the Methodist Episcopal Church, the land description including: "one acre from each of the persons named as the first party, lying situate and being in the county of Edgecomb Beginning at the NE corner at a pine a few yards N of the main road leading from Stantonsburg to Greenville." In other deeds the Hocott property is described as being on the Little Contentnea. This land was in the area that became Wilson County. When we were in North Carolina two years ago, we did not succeed in finding this old church property. I would be interested in knowing *anything* about this church - history, records, cemetery???? Thanks for any clues. Lorene
