    3. I am studying and researching the Gurley line. I just transcribed a handwritten account of Jeremiah Gurley's narrative of his service in the Rev. war from his pension file. My line goes to John Gurley who d.1790 in Johnston Co. and miraculously I found his handwritten account of his nine children who were born in Johnston Co. in Jeremiah's file. I am still trying to figure out the relationship between a William Gurley who died in 1760 and another John Gurley who also died in 1760 in Johnston Co. according to probate records. Another name I need more info on is Elizabeth Edwards who was married to John (the one who died in 1790). My grandfather is John Rufus Gurley - he was police chief of Wilson from the mid 1920's to 1939 when he died. In Dallas I'm very lucky to have access to the Dallas Public Library which has great records. -------------------------------------------------------------- Ted M.
