I am studying and researching the Gurley line. I just transcribed a handwritten account of Jeremiah Gurley's narrative of his service in the Rev. war from his pension file. My line goes to John Gurley who d.1790 in Johnston Co. and miraculously I found his handwritten account of his nine children who were born in Johnston Co. in Jeremiah's file. I am still trying to figure out the relationship between a William Gurley who died in 1760 and another John Gurley who also died in 1760 in Johnston Co. according to probate records. Another name I need more info on is Elizabeth Edwards who was married to John (the one who died in 1790). My grandfather is John Rufus Gurley - he was police chief of Wilson from the mid 1920's to 1939 when he died.
