Does anyone besides the Genealogical Society have access to Orphan Bonds and Guardianship bonds and apprentice bonds for the late 1840's? I'm searching for the disposition of a child in 1845-1849 by the name of William Henry Harrison Whitley, born 14 Feb 1838 somewhere in North Carolina. He is on the 1860 federal census as single in the Black Creek district of Wilson Co. I am trying to reconstruct his childhood as he lost both parents at an early age. He entered the Civil War in Black Creek N.C. in 1862. Prior to the war he married and his wife died in childbirth with twin girls. I am searching for the names of his parents and his first wife. So far, no luck. Any help will be appreciated!
