    3. I've always been fascinated about the description of the lines of Wilson County when it was formed in 1855. There must have been some controversy because in 1859 there was a clarifying act which slightly changed the lower line of the county. It is this section that interests me as I research the Ruffin family. "thence a direct line to a large pine near the mouth of Jacob Hook's lane, north of Jacob Hook's dwelling, thence a direct line to Ruffin's Bridge". If I am interpreting the changing law correctly, Hook's house was originally left in Wayne County, and the revision allowed it to become Wilson County. The RUFFIN bridge is my main interest. It sounds like it was located right at the point of where Wilson, Wayne and Greene Counties meet. It states "from said Ruffin's bridge down Contentnea creek to the Greene County line: Can anyone help me with this location? Don't suppose anyone on this list is also researching the Jacob Hook's family? I'm interested because they must have been neighbors of my Ruffin group! Prior to 1855, what county would this "corner" have been in. Thanks for your help! Virginia
