Was delighted to see Jeanie Stouts notice of the school picture. my mother, Ruth Joines, was listed as one of the children. The old school was located at the Absher community as described. Her home place encompassed the crossroad and her father Hardin Joines had a large general store there. A "new" school is still there and now serves as a community center. It is adjacent to her "home place" that is still in the family. I hope to get a copy of the Journal Patriot issue and would like to knew if any one else has photos or other information relating to the school, or to the old "Original" Double Creek Primitive Baptist Church that adjoins the school property. The old church mentioned was the predecessor of the current and active Double Creek Baptist Church thatb is nearby on Longbottom Rd. Many thanks Jeanie Ed morrah
