Good morning I am trying to find my way around the Wilkes Court house. This is what the web site on our court house tells us we can find. Can any know and please tell me if our Wilkes Co Court house has a ( Promontory's office ) To see if some one came to the court to declare that they are no longer in need of a court appointed guardian? etc? I can find old Will books but the index called Will book no one seems to be missing. I did find in the front of the older Will books that some names of the people in these Wills are listed. So far at the Public Library I found a few Will Book index or abstract books . But not a complete listing of all years and names. There was a set of 3 books in Library and the one with the S T etc is missing one book out of 3. I also did not find a book for the mid 1800's. I am trying to figure out how to find ancestor's for person who was in the 1880 census as a single women with two children. Thank you for any thing you can share.
