Lenoir and family lived at Fort Defiance in what is now Caldwell County. Fort Defiance is now a historical landmark and is open to the public at times. I don't what type of papers/photos they have on site. Some of his papers are in the Southern Historical Collection at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Caldwell County also has a heritage museum in Lenoir; there might be some stuff there.
