In all this discussion of the Johnson lineage, I wish someone would run across the name of Parmanus Johnson (abt 1788-18 Aug 1853). According to the 1850 Census, he was born in VA. I think his son was Nimrod Johnson (03 Sept 1807-31 Aug 1864). The 1850 and 1860 Censuses say Nimrod was born in NC. Apparently Nimrod migrated to Davidson County, TN prior to 1830, then to Marshall County, TN by October 1837, and finally to Gibson County, TN about 1848. Parmanus followed him to each of these places and both of them are buried at the Oak Grove United Methodist Cemetery near Trenton, TN. Nimrod's children were: Sarah (1833), John (1835), Eliza (1837), Elizabeth (1838), Samuel (1842), and Jeremiah Franklin (23 Dec 1844-28 Oct 1894).
