His father was John W. Phillips b. 5 March 1863 Johnson County, Tn, d. 20 May 1949 , Cincinnitti, Hamiliton County,Ohio, Johns father was John Phillips born about 1829 North Carolina and John's wife was Rachel Arrendel/Arnold . John died 2 July 1862, Malvern Hill, Va. Johns father was unknown Phillips , married to a Nancy Unknown she was born about 1805 in NC , her information was obtained from census records. Thier children were John, Eli, Cornelius and Mary per the census. The below information is the basic of what I have and where I am stuck.
