A few years before she died, my mother told me that the property that my brother and I own in Ashe County was part of a 1793 land grant to Joshua WEAVER. Is there some kind soul who visits the Wilkes County courthouse fairly often who can take a few minutes to look and see if there is a Wilkes County (in part that became Ashe) land grant in the 1793 period in the deed books?
