I do belive your Byrd/Bird family is connected to mine. The best thing to do is find out where Marcus is burried. Call the register of deeds in Wilkes. They should have a Copy of his death record if thats where he is burried.Should list his parents. Mine died in Caldwell. I did not find record of Marcus there. It does seem that my Byrd/Bird's and your Byrd/Birds were the only ones up in McDowdell WV. from Wilkes.
