    3. Tom Dula was the one about whom the ballad "Hang Down your head, Tom Dooly" was written. It was popular in maybe the 1960-70's? If you will enter Tom Dula Story in goggle, then there are many cross-references to the story on the net. Didn't I see somewhere that he lived near the community/area/whatever named Ferguson in Wilkes Co? ----- Original Message ----- From: "Margaret Mabrey" <margiesan@charter.net> To: <ncwilkes@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, January 05, 2007 10:23 AM Subject: Re: [NCWILKES] Ferguson/Tripplett marriages in Wilkes co, NC What is the 'Tom Dula' incidents? ----- Original Message ----- From: <jlynndagenhart@netzero.net> To: <ncwilkes@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, January 05, 2007 5:29 AM Subject: Re: [NCWILKES] Ferguson/Tripplett marriages in Wilkes co, NC > Many of The Barlows also lived on Beaver Creek. > Look for Patterson ,Elkville/Elkton and Boomer. on a map. > Beaver creek should also be on a modern Wilkes Map. > Many of the Fergusons lived near Beaver Creek Baptist Church. > They also lived not far from where the Tom Dula incidents took place > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to > NCWILKES-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the > quotes in the subject and the body of the message ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to NCWILKES-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message

    3. I looked this up years ago because Tom's mother was Mary Keeton daughter of Clifton. But this Clifton is too old for my Clifton. Still searching.
