Nita, This is a suspicion I've had about Coleman Ferguson, too. It seems likely that his mother's surname would've been Coleman and that he, most likely, was not a firstborn son. However, over the years, I've not found a Ferguson/Coleman connection in the right time frame either. Maybe, there are some Coleman's out there who would know more.....hopefully....some day.
