    3. Our oldest known ancestor, Abraham Haynes, b. 1775 in Maryland married Allie Canaday in Wilkes County in 1800. They moved on to Georgia, eventually settled in Clay Co., Ala. in the mid 1830's. My husband is going to take a DNA test to try to match someone in his family line. I'm hoping that some of the same family might still be living in this county or might see this message and would be willing to take the test himself. Doris in Texas

    1. [NCWILKES] Reynolds DNA Project
    2. Peggy Oliver
    3. Dear Wilkes Researchers, My line goes back to Elisha Reynolds who lived in Wilkes from the 1750s until his death in 1836. He married Judith Eddins and was a veteran of Kings Mountain. We believe his father was a John Francis Reynolds b. in Virginia about 1710. There is also a brother, John Francis who owned land in Wilkes at the same time Elisha. This brother was married to Anne Blackburn. The reason for my email is to encourage males of the Reynolds line to participate in the Reynolds DNA project. Eventually, this new tool is going to solve a lot of brick wall problems for everyone, but we need a lot of donors. If you are (or know of) a male Reynolds with connections to North Carolina, your participation in the Reynolds DNA project would greatly aid my own research. However Reynolds with connections anywhere are greatly welcomed. If interested, just go to this website for information. http://www.reynoldsdna.com/ Margaret Reynolds Oliver
