Wilkes county will book I, 1778-1779 lists William Clark as part of a survey on 8 Nov 1799 dealing with taxation of land lying on the waters of Reddies River, Mulberry Creek, Roaring River and New River. Leah (may have been Elizabeth Leah, since she named her daughter as such) JOHNSON was born abt 1742, was William's wife. Henry and Thomas, sons of Wm. and Jeremiah YORK who married William's daughter left before 1799 1800 William Clark listed for the last time in Wilkes Co on a deed in 1800. Note: Typo "Lilliam" s/b William Clark and note the Johnsons (Capt Johnson's District). Our William, according to Jim Clark's research is first listed in the Wilkes Co NC tax list of 1784 with 250 acres. According to Roaring River Baptist Church Minutes, they were members.
