    1. Lost Williams Family in North Carolina-HELP!!
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/xUB.2ACE/4266 Message Board Post: I realize that this is like looking for a needle in a Hay Stack or groping for straws in the dark, cuz there were so many Williams' who migrated and were born in NC. Anyway..... here's my story: Henry Williams Born: Approx: 1835 in North Carolina Parents were born in North Carolina (any little thing may help) Henry served with Co I 7th Cav in the Civil War in Iowa. His military record states that he was born in North Carolina in 1835. He was about 5'8" tall weighed about 130lbs, tanned skin, black hair, blue eyes. Later Census records Henry states that his parents were born in North Carolina. I an figuring that Henry's parents were probably born about 1810-1815 in North Carolina, I base this assumption on that they were at least 20 years old when Henry was born. Henry was in Iowa in 1860, married Sarah Winterringer in 1863 in Smithland, Iowa. Later moved to St Helena, Nebraska where he died in 1891 from a fall. I know its not much to go on, but hopefully someone will have something or a match somewhere. Family rumor says that Henry's middle name may have been "barnes", but I have yet to find any evidence of this. I have traced Henry Williams and his children forward from 1860 -2006....wish I could connect his North Carolina roots. whistleinthewind2@yahoo.com Genealogy web site: www.angelfire.com/al4/williamsgenealogy101 Thank you for taking the time to read this, and God be with you.
