She was born in Wilkes County to Addie Brewer Paige and Walter Lee Paige on Nov. 28, 1933. She attended Forsyth County schools and retired from Southern Bell Telephone Co. with 32 years of service. She attended several area churches. After retiring, she and her husband moved to Atlantic Beach where she was presented an award from the town of Atlantic Beach for volunteering to serve as director of the Charity Martha' s Mission Cupboard in Morehead City. "Jenny" was a true friend to many and was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Mrs. Margaret Crews and Mrs. Nell Fritts; and her brother, James W. Paige. She is survived by her husband, Carey A. Horne; sisters Mrs. Ruby Dikerson of Lewisville; Mrs. Elizabeth Bucek of Winston-Salem; and Mrs. Jean Fulp of Kernersville; and her loyal friend, Mrs. Betty Hill of Clemmons. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews whom she loved very much. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 24, at Parklawn Memorial Park.
