Krys, my Hawkins DNA "cheat sheet" has the following: DNA Group #13 Elisha and Isabelle Roberts Hawkins 1802 Elisha was born in 1802 in Wilkes Co., N.C. We know that his mother was named Sallie but we are not 100% sure of his father's name. One record would suggest James; a book of biographies would suggest a Burton Hawkins as his father although he was born before the marriage of Burton Hawkins of Grayson Co. and Ruth Sexton, the only Burton line we can find. And a third possibility is John Hawkins on 1782 Wilkes census ("Mulberry Fields" John, not "Stony Fork" John of Wilkes Co.), who owned land on the same creek as Elisha later owned. So, Elisha b. 1802, Wilkes Co., N.C. to Johnson Co., Tn. to Wilkes again and then to Russell Co., Va. - some descendants stayed in southwest Virginia, some went to Pike Co. in eastern Ky. kypacer@aol.com Just passing this along in case you see a connection to this Hawkins line.
