I am related to Maie McGee Church (Finley) through my maternal grandfather, William Thomas Bumgarner (son of Harison and Mary Church Bumgarner) whose sister was Hannah Bumgarner McGee (Maie's mother). On my father's side, Michael and Elizabeth Church (Amos and Elizabeth Swink Church) Bumgarner's son Amos married Matilda Church (Elijah and Ann Blanton Church). Their son Perry A. Bumgarner was my great-granfather. Perry's son was John Allen Bumgarner, and my father was Ulysses Glenn Bumgarner. It seems like down through the years, many Bumgarners have married Churchs, and many Churchs have married Bumgarners.
