For many years I have only known that my family generally came from Wilkes County and then a short while ago (a few months) I learn that it was around Parsonville and that there was a Powell cemtery plot. Now there are two Powell cemeteries-definitely an embarrasment of riches! I have no idea who might be in either, but would like an address or map so that I could visit. My assumption is that my gggggrandmother and father are buried on the cemetery that was on John Martin's property since they lived with him but that would just be a guess. Certainly back then (140-190 years ago) there were a lot of Powell family members in that immediate area. In fact, my father visited from Indiana nearly 70-80 years ago and knew family members in the area but he has been gone for nearly 40 years so I have no idea what he knew about the area and so forth. Is there a way to get a map or something to help me figure out where to go and who to ask before I go looking for the cemeteries? I will also let distant Powell relatives in Indiana (I now live in Wisconsin) know of this-there are quite a few 5th and 6th cousins there and a few of us keep in touch by email. I'm visiting some of them for the first time next month and they very much want to know where the family came from...this will be exciting news for them. Anyway, thank you all so much. Bill Powell
