I believe that mine is named James E (possible Edward as that name goes down thru the family). This James was called "Jim", his decendants were called "Ed" & such. James E was born about 1821 in Wilkes Co, according to his statement on his pension file. It has been suggested that he could be the son of Hannah Pilkington Lunsford & possibly Micajah Lunsford. There was an Elisha in Johnson Co & Carter TN in those early & mid 1800 census that could be part of that family too, but not proven. Enoch is definitely a son of Hannah. Just looking for that missing piece to prove Jame's parentage. He also is supposed to be a cousin to a Nancy Dornbush who married Edenton Mitchell. Does anybody have anything on the Dornbushes that lived in Wilkes & Ashe Co? There doesn't seem to be any there in census records.
