    3. Eddie and Jo Ann I suspect that that often is the case. No disrespect is meant by using the abbreviated term, but some people simply close down, rather than trying to wrap themselves around a longer name. I think that's why you see so many companies using only letters now (KFC for Kentucky Fried Chicken, NCIS for the tv show, etc etc). Thanks for your teaching and your tolerance. Nancy in MI (which used to be Michigan...) and I won't even MENTION message texting... ----- Original Message ----- From: "Eddie Cox" <[email protected]> To: "'Jo Ann Whitworth'" <[email protected]>; <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, January 25, 2008 12:34 AM Subject: Re: [NCWILKES] [SPAM]Re: Mormon, to Jo Ann > Jo Ann, > > Thanks for your understanding and your humor. 3. Thanks, Nancy, I know Eddie wasn't trying to be disrespectable, and you are right about people not wanting to use the longer name: I usually use the letters LDS, myself. My "lesson" was for those who might not know the correct name of the Church. Also, the term "Morman" is not always seen in a good light, which is a shame, because the man Morman, who preserved so much of the history in the Book of Morman and played such a large part in that history, was a man who was worthy of great honor. Thanks again, Nancy, and all the best in your genealogy research.
