Yes, there were many Isbells in Wilkes County, NC at that time. James & Frances Tompkins Livingston, their ten children and the children's families moved from VA to Wilkes Co., early in 1779. The ten children who accompanied their parents, James and Frances Isbell, to North Carolina and all of whom were born in Albemarle County, Virginia are given below with their date of birth. John, 1748 ; Edith, 1756; Milly, 1750; Mary, 1758; Livingston, 1751; James, 1760; Thomas, 1753 ; Elizabeth, 1762; Francis, 1755; William Tompkins, 1765. I have more Isbell info.
