    1. Re: [NCWILKES] MINTON-CHURCH
    2. I have a little bit on this family, but not much more than you do. I'll include what I have below. They are not in my direct line of ancestry, so it's sketchy. However, I went looking for any of them in a census after 1870 this morning, and they might as well have vanished. Very interesting to find none of the children there. In other cases like that, they have moved to Buncombe County or gone west. I see Mary Minton's last child born in 1852, and childbirth was a leading cause of death for women, so that may be when she died. The Churches were often orderly about burying their dead in cemeteries, so I would go looking through cemeteries in the Lewis Fork area of the county. I tried to do that this morning but the site was not available. Here is what I have, for what it is worth. 1. GEORGE6 ELLER (PETER5, PETER4, GEORGE MICHAEL3, GEORGE2, JOHANN ADAM1)1 was born Abt. 1812 in Wilkes County, North Carolina, and died Aft. 1870. He married MARY ANN MINTON 24 Jul 1845 in Wilkes County, North Carolina, daughter of GEORGE MINTON and REBECCA CHURCH. She was born Abt. 1823 in Wilkes County, North Carolina, and died Bet. 1852 - 1860. More About GEORGE ELLER: Census: 1860, Year: 1860; Census Place: Elkville Post Office, Upper Division, Wilkes, North Carolina; Roll: M653_918; Page: 157; Image: 315. More About MARY ANN MINTON: Census: 1850, Year: 1850; Census Place: Not Stated, Wilkes, North Carolina; Roll: M432_649; Page: 370; Image: 243. Children of GEORGE ELLER and MARY MINTON are: i. WILLIAM7 ELLER, b. Abt. 1846, Wilkes County, North Carolina; d. Unknown. Notes for WILLIAM ELLER: In the 1870 census, he is living on the farm of Franklin McNeil, working as a laborer on the farm. He is living near John and Hiram Church. More About WILLIAM ELLER: Census: 1860, Year: 1860; Census Place: Elkville Post Office, Upper Division, Wilkes, North Carolina; Roll: M653_918; Page: 157; Image: 315. age 14 ii. CAROLINE ELLER, b. Abt. 1847, Wilkes County, North Carolina; d. Unknown. More About CAROLINE ELLER: Census: 1860, Year: 1860; Census Place: Elkville Post Office, Upper Division, Wilkes, North Carolina; Roll: M653_918; Page: 157; Image: 315. age 12 iii. PHINEAS H. ELLER, b. 06 Nov 1850, Wilkes County, North Carolina; d. 18 Aug 1935; m. MARGARET CHURCH, Abt. 1873, Wilkes County, North Carolina; b. Abt. 1855, Wilkes County, North Carolina; d. Unknown. Notes for PHINEAS H. ELLER: In the 1870 census, George and Phineas are the entire household. They appear to be 2 years younger than they were in 1860 (meaning they aged 8 years instead of 10). However, they live among all of the same Mintons and Churches so they certainly look like the same people. More About PHINEAS H. ELLER: Census: 1860, Year: 1860; Census Place: Elkville Post Office, Upper Division, Wilkes, North Carolina; Roll: M653_918; Page: 157; Image: 315. iv. MARY ANN ELLER, b.
