I don't know how many of you have ever visited Wilkes County, but I thought I would pass this on. There is an awesome acting group in the county that does a play on the story of Tom Dooley, every summer, along with other plays, etc. I received an email from that group, this morning, and they are experiencing financial problems, just like everyone else in the country. On the bright side, they have come up with an idea of doing a "Walk of Fame" as a fundraiser. This "Walk of Fame" would be located at historic Benton Hall, which is where the group presents its performances. They are selling bricks to the public which will bear the purchasers name, or the name of a relative or friend, or state "in memory of", "in honor of" or be listed "the family of". The bricks cost $100.00 each. That's a little pricey, but I'm wondering if any members of our genealogy group would be interested in going in together to buy bricks for our different families.
