Mrs. Tucker was born May 15, 1920 in Wilkes County to Samuel D. & Delia Billings. Mrs. Tucker was a member of Cool Springs Baptist Church and was retired from TG&Y. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Brady Cheek; three sisters, Beatrice Eckhardt, Bertha Newman and Mae Benge. Survivors include: her husband, Robert Tucker of the home; two stepsons, Keith Tucker and wife Rebekah of Lexington, Kenneth Tucker and wife Julia of Elkin; a brother, Arvil "Bud" Billings and wife Milford of State Road; a special nephew, Benny Benge; three step grandchildren, Barry Tucker, Jessica Tucker, Craig Tucker; one step great grandchild, Ella Grace Tucker; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 30, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Hodges Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Russ Nixon. Burial will follow at Crestwood Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on hour prior to the service from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Hodges Funeral Home in Elkin.
