Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 17, at Rachel Baptist Church with Dr. Leon Mikles and the Rev. Don Hudson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mrs. Pruitt was born in Wilkes County, January 24, 1952, to Lawrence Parsons and Hazel Bumgarner Spears. Mrs. Pruitt is survived by one daughter, Pamela Jean Horton and husband, Danny of Lenoir; one son, Jeffrey Pyles and wife, Deborah of Yadkinville; four sisters, Evelyn Bumgarner, Claire Harris, Elizabeth Everette, and Dare Blevins all of North Wilkesboro; one brother, Don Spears of North Wilkesboro; two half sisters, Ann Gant of Millers Creek and Mary Dowell of Wilkesboro; one half brother, Lawrence C. Parsons, Jr. of Wilkesboro; five grandchildren, Allison Marie Pyles, Sophia Lenay Pyles, Daniel Lee Horton, Darisa Rena Horton, Bradley Eugene Phillips.
