The Public Library it self has some census books up to 1900. Don't for get the school census 1840. The Public Library has a few shelf's of books that are not in the room that holds the G. Society books This little room It packed with data. A computer is in that room and you can get on Hertiagequest.com on that computer for free and check out census records. You can go to familysearch.org for 1880 and social security records for birth and death dates. You can use Ancestry.com for (ranked) searches for free and look at message boards. If you are traveling and you do not want to take all your notes along with you. I suggest you get a Yahoo.com address and that is free and type some of your notes in a draft message or you might have an address you can access from other computers. The Public library has copy machines. In the Genealogy room is a new Micro film machine . And hidden in that room are micro films of many things . Many are in unlocked file cabnets near machines. Early Marriage Bonds-Tax records-census- deeds etc. You can find index's to most these things. Then you can make a copy of the data you find from the machine. For many things you do not have to go to the Court house to find or you do not have to send to the State Archives but many people do not know this . Just look around and check out what all is in those drawls that hold Micro film. Some one at the reference desk may be able to help you and help you use the microfilm machine and make copy's. There are other things hidden files cabnets family files others have added check out these. Snoop around many gems are hidden in that room. I feel compelled to advise you because I have been in the Public Library twice this week. And was suprised that member's of the Genealogy Society told some out of towners that they had to write to the State Archives for a Marriage Bond and for 15 cents it could be found on the wonderful microfilm/copy machine that the Genealogy Socety has bought last year. The next day I heard another member tell the same couple they had to go to the court house for some thing that was also on Microfilm in the Genealogy room. Also the Community Library has a Genealogy room you have to ask were it is because it is hidden away. I am not am expert at all this but I am learning. I am not a member of the Society because all my roots are in PA. Jeanie --------------------------------- How low will we go? Check out Yahoo! Messenger's low PC-to-Phone call rates.

The sisters were Rossie Ludemia (Deamy) Fuget and Marian Debbie Fuget - daughters of Winney Ivey and William Fuget of Wilkes County. The names of the Hawkins brothers - I think - were John and Luther. The brothers were supposedly killed during the Civil War. Deamy and John had a son named Jesse and a daughter named Lucinda. Debbie and Luther had a son named Martin and possibly some other children. Jesse Hawkins is on the Guion Miller Roll - I think because his grandmother, Winney Ivey, was Cherokee. I do not have birth, death or marriage dates. Lucinda Hawkins was born in 1850, I think. If anyone has any information on any of these people, I would really appreciate the help. Thanks so much.

There are over 150 pictures so far, with more to come soon. Here is the link: http://www.webjmd.com/pictures.html Most of these families are generally from the areas of Austin, Lomax, Traphill, and Hays, but some are from other parts of the county. Many families are represented including Bauguess, Blackburn, Ingool, Walker, Pruitt, Myers, Harris, Duncan, and Brooks. If anyone sees a picture of interest, I'd like to hear from you!
