Well, hello there, Cuz, Yes, I descend from Elisha born 1755 and then from his son Ivy, born about 1792. Ivy emigrated to Southern Illinois about 1817 and that is where I was raised. I currently live in Maine. I am always looking for anything on this family. I have Elisha's father as being John Francis the First, b. about 1710 in Virginia. However, there is not a lot of documentation. According to Tillman, we go back to Christopher Reynolds, but Tillman's stuff is not highly regarded. Do you have anything on your John Ashley's ancestors? Margaret, which Elisha Reynolds are you looking for? I also descend from this family and I have two of them listed in Wilkes Co. The oldest is Elisha Reynolds (1755-1836) who was the brother of John Francis Reynolds. Elisha served in the Revolutionary War, serving as a lieutenant toward the end. I have him marrying Judith Eddins on 8/5/1786 and living their lives on Mulberry Creek. The other is William Elisha Reynolds (1778-1860s) who was a son of John Francis Reynolds. I have him marrying Elizabeth Greer in either 1800 or 1802. In 1810 he was in the Wilkes Co census. In 1812 he was on the Warren Co, TN, tax list, and he is listed there through 1860 when he was 84 years old, born in NC. I descend from John Ashley Reynolds Sr (1774-1859) and his wife Nancy Cleveland. John was the brother of William Elisha Reynolds listed above.
