I have no record or recollection of Mandy or Julie McGee. I do remember Darius, Allie (& Blanche) and Mae (& Finley Church). If my memory is correct, they lived near Mae & Finley on Pads Road, North Wilkesboro. Apparently Aunt Hannah's husband was Columbus Green McGee as I once saw him refered to as "C. Greeen" McGee. Who were your mother's parents? What is her name? Where do you live? On another message board you posted the obitiaries for Glenn and Mamie Bumgarner, they were my parents. All I have been able to find out about my Grandpa Will's family is that his father was Harison and his mother Mary Church Bumgarner. Do you have more info on them? A Wilkes County historical source talked about the cemetery and Rachel Smith Powell lived with John Martin Powell until her death a few years after the Civil War-I'm presuming both of John Martin's parents are buried there and I would like to visit it sometime. William Evans Powell, her husband, and John Martin's father died several years earlier. John Martin did indeed marry Mary Owen (another Welsh name). There are a lot of siblings in that family and, as mentioned, I am descended from Mason and Clary who moved to Indiana. Quite a few people from Wilkes County moved to Indiana and most settled near one another in Wells County Indiana which is just south of Fort Wayne...........they kept contact with their NC relatives for nearly 100 years but those ties have drifted away, unfortunately. Many of the names in Wilkes County can be found in Wells County to this date and there is even a genealogical listserv for people with families in both areas! Anyway, I greatly appreciate hearing from you and will follow up on your message.
