Mr. Carter was born November 23, 1924 in Wilkes County to Kenis & Hallie Norman Carter; Mrs. Carter was born November 11, 1933 in Surry County to Grady & Maude Dula Luffman. Mr. Carter retired from Abitibi and he was a Veteran of the United States Army and served during WWII and Mrs. Carter retired from Elkin Valley Apparel and they both attended Cool Springs Baptist Church. In addition to their parents, Mrs. Carter was preceded in death by a brother, Clyde Luffman. Survivors include: their son, Gary "Buck" Carter and wife Carolyn of New Port Richey, Fla.; their daughters, Glenda Watson and husband Norman, Tammy Rice and husband Brian all of Moorsville; six grandchildren, Wendy Griffith and husband Rod, Brian Watson, Brandon Carter, Casey Carter, Jacob Rice and Joshua Rice; one great granddaughter, Hannah Griffith; Mr. Carter was also survived by two brothers, Ernest Carter of Elkin, K.M.
