Sounds like you have some deep seated animosity to your fellowman. Maybe in the future, you need to type your message and send to yourself first, cool off for a day, then edit it and resend without all the vindictivness. 3. I have no personal knowledge of this family. However, according to the Wilkes County Heritage Book I I can give you info found on page 393, article 937 which is the Isaac Wintfrey Pruitt family. (And Wintfrey is spelled that way in the book.)..Isaac was apparently your Mark's sibling. According to this article, Joseph Pruitt was born July 16, 1774, in Pittsylvania County, VA. He moved to Wilkes Co 19 years later in 1777. He entered the American Revolutionary Army under the command of Benjamin CLeveland against the Cherokeees. He also served under Captain Larkin Cleveland and Captain WIlliam Waugh. Joseph Pruitt was discharged by Captain Cleveland at Wilkes Court House. He served against the Tories 3 months and against the Tories on New River 5 weeks. (There is a a bit more about his military service.) Then it states Pruitt moved to Ashe Co in 1829 but most of his family remained in Wilkes. Joseph Pruitt died after August 1, 1833. Article does not give his wife's name. Joel Pruitt was the son of Joseph Pruitt. In 1853, Joel Pruitt appointed Abram Cornelius his attorney to secure pension due him as heir to Joseph Pruitt, his father, from the U.S. Government. In 1828, Joel Pruitt and wife Polly became the parents of Hardin Pruitt. Hardin later married Lucinda Brooks .(1833-1899). There are several more paragraphs about thier children, and especially about the descendents of thier son Isaac Wintfrey Pruitt . Article was contributed by a descendent of Isaac Wintfrey who was a G. Rex Barker. Sources were given as Wilkes Co. Will Book, Personal knowledge and interviews with family members. The Ashe Co. Heritage books have reference to several Pruitts in other articles. One listed a Median Pruitt , daughter of Joel, who married a Troy Stamper in Alleghany Co in 1881.Then there is a primary article about a Roanza and Minerva Angeline Pruitt. Roanza born 1887, was a son of John (Doc) and Phoebe Jane Blue Pruitt in Vol. II of Ashe Co Heritage books. Don't know whether these were some of your Pruitts or not. Hope this was helpful.... She married Henry Marley abt. 1830. Her son Elisha Smith Marley made a hasty trip out of NC sometime between 1870 and 1880. It was said to involve a horse and probably a woman. Elisha was my greatgrandfather. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Would like to have copy or abstract of any probate records. Of course, I would like a cemetery record, Bible record, or obituary, too, but I'm not greedy. Many thanks!
