I am looking for a death date for Cynthia (Cinderella) Bryan and her husband Jonathan Greenberry Atkins. He is a brother to Charlotte Hale Atkins who mar. Francis Bryan, so I am hoping you still have your cemetery reading and can tell me if they are buried in the Bryan family cemetery and hopefully have dates for them. I haven't been able to find the cemetery records online. Donna Chandler, IN Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. The German name Byerley/Bierly/Byerly/whatever is also often called Burley/Barley/whatever. There was a line in both PA and SC, latter of which certainly appeared on French Broad River of TN by 1820's when daughters Margaret and Lucy married Watkins brothers, William and Samuel. The name "Isbell/Isabelle" also appears later in Monroe/Blount CO, TN, near the same families. Author: teriwrites Surnames: Barlow Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.northcarolina.counties.wilkes/7336/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Is it possible that the John Barley listed as a signer of the Watauga Petition is John Barlow of Wilkes Co, NC? The surname was sometimes transcribed as Barley. Originally from VA, Rev. John Barlow was a pioneering Baptist minister who was in the Yadkin Valley and Wilkes Co, NC. by the time of the American Revolution. His land bordered -- and his family intermarried with -- that of the Isbells. Isbells signed the Watauga Petition. His son, Eliphalet Barlow, left NC about 1801 to go to Nicholas Co KY where he married his cousin, Milly Barlow. Another cousin, Thomas Barlow of Scott Co KY, married Susan Childs Isbell in Wilkes Co. This Thomas Barlow is often confused with Milly Barlow Barlow's father, Thomas Barlow of Campbell Co VA (died in Nicholas Co, KY) who provided beef and bacon for Nathaniel Green's march into NC. Would love to know if the John Barley is really John Barlow. Teri Howden Freedman [email protected] Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I have always longed to know more about my family. I am 46 and have 3 sisters and a brother. Joey, Shirley, Crystal and Patricia. Joey and Shirley were adopted by Dad ,children of my stepmother and Patricia was their child together. Crystal and I have the same mother. I work for Comporium Communications in Rock Hill SC. I have one son Timmie who is 27 and lives in Harlan Ky. My Dad (Carl) would have been 72 this past October. Did you know him also, I assume since you are close in age, you must have known each other. I know he went to school in Wilkes County until early High School because I have his report cards and school pictures. My grandfather Herman passed in 1970. I did not know him as my parents divorced when I was 3 and I didn't see anyone in my family again till I was 15, by then Granddaddy had passed. As I said earlier, most of the information I have has come from my stepmother, Jimmy Faye Lowe. She stayed in contact with Aunt Winnie and Aunt Birdie until their deaths, I am sure you knew them also. Do yo have an ancestry page with all the family info that I can link to. I am attaching pictures of my Dad, Granddaddy and Granny. Dad was about 42 in this picture. Do you have family pictures that you can share. Thanks so much for the info you have given it means so much and I am sure would have taken ages to have found on my own. My email address is [email protected] if you would like to correspond that way. Funny to hear that about my Granddaddy! Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
