I am looking for information on Joseph Teacher or Teachie that married Mary Rose in Nov. 1900. I have a copy of a marriage register that came from Greene Co. but a lot of it doesn't make sense. It list Joseph Teacher (or Teachie) age 37 and Mary Rose age 41 as bride and groom. In the column that says "date of issue" it has the date Nov. 29, 1900. In the column that says "date of marriage" it has Nov. 19, 1900. This is weird because itseems as though they had the ceremony before they got the license. This is not all though. As I said this marriage register came from Greene Co. records and the registry states in the column that says "place of marrige" as Nahunta. Now I think Nahunta was in Wayne Co. What's up? Are these just mistakes or did people have the ceremony before the license? Could they get a license from a different county than they were married in? Also they are on the registry but a copy of the actual licence cannot be found. Other information on the license list W! . A. Martin J.P. as performing the ceremony and R. Outland and Tho. Artis as witnesses. I have know more info on Joseph Teacher (or Teachie) but do know Mary was Mary Carraway who married and had a family with James Rose in Wayne Co. Mary and James would have been my gg-grandparents. Other than knowing some of their children I don't really have anything else. If anyone has any leads such as death certificates, marriage license, burial, places deeds, wills, or anything I would appreciate the help. Or if you can explain this marriage registry. I may be contacted directly at angela@cocentral.com Thanks, Chris
