After Benjamin's death, Mariah EASON applied for a pension on Benjamin's Mexican War service, which is recorded in the National Archives in Washington,D.C. In 1900, William and Mary Ann were living in West Selma Township, Johnston County, where William's occupation was given as "farmer," and his mother Ann Mariah (Ann Mariah Ullmer) Millinder Eason, aged 74, was living with him. Mary Ann's birthdate was recorded in her brother Owen C. Wilkins' Family Bible, which is currently in the possession of J.T. Wilkins Jun'r. v. IRA J. EASON, b. 1853; m. ADDIE H.
