But I do have a link on the Exum and Davis family. My great grand mother was Ava (Eva) Exum marries to James H Rose. They had seven girls. My grandmother was Hattie P. Rose - Hawley - Tedder. Her sister Bethany married a William Riley Davis in 1918 in Wilson Co. NC. Maybe this will help.
Thanks for the reply. My Davis- Exum connection would have been before 1869 when my grandfather was born. He and one of his sisters both had Exum as a middle name and they lived on "the Exum farm" near Eureka. Forty five years ago, there were some cousins with surname Exum but I can't find any now. There are Davises buried on the Exum farm but I have been unable to get permission so far to go searching for it. I believe that would give some hints. I do appreciate your reply and the information will probably add some pieces to the puzzle !
