I have posted this before but would like to try again since finding out about a previous marriage for Mary Carraway and getting the place and time frame more nailed down.I am searching for James Preston Rose who married Mary Teacher. They were residents of Wayne Co., NC. Birthdates and marriage date for James and Mary are unknown but as to my best guess I would say they were born about 1852 and were married about 1872. Mary's maiden name was Mary Carraway. She married Joe Teacher. After Joe's death she married James Preston Rose. James and Mary had a son, John Wright Rose b. April 26, 1874; d. May 22, 1938. John Wright married Cora Virginia Walston, b. Nov. 6, 1876; d. April 9, 1944. John and Cora were married in Wilson Co., NC on Nov. 27, 1895. On their marriage license it states that John's father is "Jas" Rose and his mother, Mary. It also states at the time of their marriage that James is deceased and Mary is living and a resident of Wayne Co., NC. The marriage license states Cora's parents are William Walston and her mother, Mary. At the time of marriage William is living and a resident of Wayne Co. and Mary is deceased. Other children of James Preston and Mary are: Bushion Rose and Ann Rose. Bushion married Liety Jones and Ann married another William Walston. So what I am looking is a marriage license or marriage bond for a James or Preston(James Preston) Rose to Mary Carraway or Mary Teacher in Wayne Co. about 1872.
