    3. My Wiggins of Lenoir also had ties in Somerset Co., NJ. Gershom, George and John came down to then Johnston Co. 1737-8, got land grants. George went back to Somerset Co. where he made his will in 1749 and died soon after, but mentioned his land in Johnston Co., NC. Gershom was in NC after George died but no trace of him in NC after 1755. I think he went back to NJ. John stayed in Lenoir Co. and died there 1769. Had a son Gershom who had inherited part of George's grant but Gershom got cheated out of this land by George's grandson, probably because he did not have the right documents to prove it was his.
