Tomlinson may be spelled Tomberlinson, Tomberlin, Tomberin, etc. My ancestor Thomas Tomlinson suppose to be son of William Tomlinson and Marinda "Mercudy" (surname unknown). Have not been able to prove parents of Thomas Tomlinson. William Tomlinson suppose to be son of Jonathan "John" Tomlinson born abt 1700 Dobbs County. Again no proof.
