    3. William TOMLINSON ( 1730-1789)is who I have as the father of Thomas born 1736. William was married to Elizabeth SIRMANS. The SIRMANS followed them to GA. I am pretty sure the were in Pitt County, NC at about the time of the Revolution. I have Thomas married to a Sarah AVERITT and they lived in Johnston County, North Carolina. Most of this bunch moved to Effingham and then, Bulloch County, GA and finally Clinch County, GA. <<< Lamar Wells, "The Registers And Our Kin," p. 8: The Tomlinson family moved from S.C. to Effingham County, Georgia soon after the Revolution, and this William died there about 1790. The Tomlinsons lived [in] old Craven County, S.C., before the Revolution, and probably during the War, and before that lived in North Carolina. Appeared earlier in TRFM, April 1956, p. 20. Capt John TOMLINSON ( 1750-1801) RS-SC was my 5th GGF. John R. Clarke 229-228-1961 2417 N.
