They were married in Virginia and later came to Jackson County, Alabama. I recently had the opportunity to see William Davis' original property and the sight of his home. Unfortunately, the house was torn down in the 40's or 50's. William Davis and Mary Ann Pogue Black were my 5th great grandparents.
