My grandmother was from Wayne Co., but moved to Rocky Mount, N. C.( Edgecomb Co.) She had a very close friend named Lula Proctor who lived close to her. This was in the 1910 to 1960 time frame. I do not know anything about her, but you might try in Edgecomb Co., she could be the same person. A lot of ex Wayne Co./ Goldsboro people moved there in the early 1900's to work for the railroad.
