Excuse my "jumping in" on all this HOWELL talk, but would love to know if any of you have seen/heard/run across/: My G-Grandfather: (JOHN) CASWELL HOWELL b ca 1820 NC; d 1883 Berrien Co, GA sp-PERNEICE/PERNEACY ______ (possible MORING/MOORING b ca 1825 GA or NC bro, BARNEY B. HOWELL b ca 1825 NC; d 1887 Thomas Co, GA sp-SMITHY ANN MORING/MOORING (mar in Thomas Co, GA) These guys are supposed to be b in NC - a deceased Aunt said in Wake Co, NC but she also had misinformation on wife, so I'm checking all possibles! CASWELL HOWELL farmed & was ordained Baptist minister in 1854. His & PERNEICE/PERNEACY's children were: SARAH J.; BURRELL B.; ELIZABETH; EVELYN; PIETY; PAYTON J.; HAMPTON A.; WILLIAM J.; & GEORGE.     2. I have the list of Sheriff's but not Deputy Sheriff's and there is no Howell listed for Sheriff. The Sheriff list is from 1781 to 1975, listed in the History of Wayne County Book. I looked through the book and found no Howell. June

    2. Don't mean to butt in, but I have the 1850 NC census that states a Jethro Howell living in Household#203. The head of household is William Coleman age 28 who is a cooper. Jethro was listed as an laborer. Would this be your Jethro Howell? June

My great grandfather was Fristus Haywood Howell, wife Katie Elizabeth Watkins. Some children include Thadeus, William Haywood, Julie, and about 9 others. parents of Fristus are Jethro and Ida Howell. I found a Thad Howell in Wayne County 1920 Census whose occupation was Deputy Sheriff for the county, whose wife was Winnie, and whose one child was Eva. My Fristus was supposed to be Sheriff, but his name wasn't Thad. Any relation? J'Anette

    2. My great great grandparents were James Richard Parker[born 1805 and died 7/20/1894]his first wife Charity Stevens [born abt. 1810 and died 12/7/1865]. His second wife was Edith Herring, no children by this marriage. They lived in Wayne Co and bought a farm[1,766 acres] from George L. Kornegay son of Daniel Kornegay. The farm was Mulberry Hill located on the West side of Thunder Swamp. That is where they are buried. I noticed that there were several James and Richard Parker's. Does anyone know who James R. Parker and Charity E. Stevens' parents were? Would appreciate any information that might lead to their parents or siblings. Especially, Charity Stevens. Thanks.
